Editor
The Editor gives you hands-on control over a render once you want to go beyond Media's guided flow.
What the Editor is
The Editor sits between Media and Publisher: Media creates and renders your video, the Editor lets you refine it further, and Publisher handles publishing the result. Editor is optional — you don't need to use it to publish a Media render.
Opening the Editor
You can open Editor directly from the Studio sidebar, or reach it with a render already loaded by choosing Edit on a Media output.
Loading an existing render
When you choose Edit on a Media output, that render is loaded into the Editor automatically — you don't need to re-upload or reconfigure anything.
Editor workspace
The Editor is organized around a preview of your video, an assets panel, a timeline, and an inspector for adjusting the selected clip or element. A detailed breakdown of each panel is coming in a future documentation update.
Editing workflow
- Make your edits in the workspace.
- Use Save or Save As to save your project — an autosave indicator shows your project's current save state as you work.
- Use Render to apply your edits and produce an updated output.
- Once rendering finishes, Export becomes available to open or download the result.
Publish
Publish opens the canonical Studio Publisher (/studio/publisher) with your edited render already loaded, ready for you to choose a platform and publish yourself — opening Publisher never publishes anything automatically.
Publish is only available when the Editor knows which original Media render your edit came from. If you opened the Editor directly rather than through a Media output's Edit action, Publish may be unavailable until you edit a render that originated from Media.
Editing happens in the Editor. Publishing — including platform choice and privacy options — is handled entirely by Studio Publisher; see the Publisher documentation for those details.
Relationship with Media
Media creates and renders your creative. The Editor lets you refine it further where supported. Publisher handles the final publishing workflow.
